When it comes to books, a three-star rating isn't critical. It means, for me, that there was some entertainment but nothing truly unique or captivating. The concept is fun and having a detective who senses feelings - pretty darn useful. But mystery thriller? There wasn't much of a mystery. The cast knew who the culprit was and they worked to apprehend her. Was the thriller bit the small twist at the end? Not sure. The twist, for this reader, wasn't really a twist as it was telegraphed a couple times during the book. I couldn't get over the pitch that two divorced people have a pact, after 7 or 8 years post-dissolution, to still not doink other folks. I guess that may be the mystery part? The writing style is fine and the sentences flowed. For me, there just wasn't' much substance to be labeled as a mystery thriller. 3 of 5 Stars - ARC provided.
