Dick and Henry and the Temporary Detective is the first, stand-alone novel with these characters. There is a short collection of, well, shorts with Dick and Henry – titled The Space Saga You don’t need to read this in advance, but the last short does set-up this story. Again, not a show-stopper if you dive right in here. This is a fast-read detective story staring Captain Dick Shannon (now Temporary Detective), his only friend, Henry, a Harvest bot as he is assigned to track down a criminal. Things hit the fan quickly as the station he is on starts exploding all around him. This sets his adventure in motion. Alex, a detainee and the wife of said targeted criminal, is also on-board and Dick must act quickly to get her and Henry to safety. If you think the Odd Couple (Google it if you haven’t a clue what this means) – that is Dick and Henry…in space. The scenery is painted well, the characters and action are believable. There are interesting undercurrents about humanity and robotics. The story concludes in full. 4 of 5 stars. ARC provided by author From the Publisher:
