Destination Oblivion

Well, I finished Book 3. For me, Book 1 was solid and Book 2 was decent. When I started Book 3, it was light reading: As in – I was going through the motions, reading a few pages here and there. But, after I made a dent in the continuance, it, and I, picked up steam. The ‘lull’ was over and the last 60-75% of the book kept up a brisk pace. This is pure Space Opera. There are undercurrents of Good v Evil; The Force; Superman-esq-ish, tree-hugging, and philosophical considerations around Artificial Intelligence. In all – fun. If you’ve read 1 and 2 you know that there is still hope for Chase. Yeah, he bugged out, but don’t worry – his friends are ready to fight for him. It is hard to write about a book series without giving too much away or summarizing what should already be known. If you are here by accident – don’t start the story here!!

3.7 of 5 stars for me. I’m not sure if I will continue the series, but I’m not opposed to the idea.

From the Publisher:

Haunted by nightmares about Sarah, Chase leaves the Earth Alliance and discards both Aphroditis and Ares’ counsel in his quest for revenge. He falls into a dangerous dark pit of hatred, sorrow and regret which consumes his soul with every passing moment. In the meantime, the Earth Alliance, now equipped with better technology, is winning most of its battles against the Zarlack forces, while the Obsidian Empire enters into talks to join the Alliance, their once mortal enemies. When Argos finds the hiding place of the Olympians and decides to strike, he reappears on Chase’s radar. Blinded by rage and fully determined to unleash the full brunt of his vengeance upon Argos, Chase teams up with Keera, a sexy bounty hunter, to hunt him down with only one purpose in mind: to end his life once and for all. But nothing is really as it seems and Chase’s life is again about to be turned upside down.
