Fantasy Online: The Runestones of Tritinakh

And here we are, book three. But three of three? Hmm, there is more story to tell.

Ryuk is still on the run, hiding from Kodai in both real world and in the Proxima Galaxy. The key players this round: Oric is back in action, but remains a minor character against the more established core group. Toss in a familiar giant and familiar faces from the Feedback Loop, and you’ve got a nice co-mingling of different serial characters across the Proxima Galaxy.

Fortunately, he hooks up with FeeTwix in the RL and Sophia runs her experiments to determine what is causing visions of Proxima to show up in reality. As this is going on, the team aims to collect the three runestones of Tritinakh. Of course, and no spoiler here, Kodai is monitoring and waiting to thwart his brother at the worst possible time. So, with this installment, you have more of a mix of both worlds, which is comparable with later Feedback Loop installments. What was fun for this reader – pulling in an old foe thought lost. I will say no more on that. 4 of 5 Stars. ARC provided by author.

From the Publisher:

What power awaits those who collect the three Runestones of Tritinakh? The Mitherfickers sure want to find out. With Kodai and the Shinigami tracking their every move, the best guild this side of Porthos takes the ultimate quest, pitting them against shamans, ice goddesses, stinky giants, and dangerous bugbears. In real world Tokyo, FeeTwix and Sophia arrive to join Ryuk in uncovering the truth of his hallucinations. What they discover is something is a game changer, to say the least. But even with the discovery, and the possibility of obtaining the Runestones, the Mitherfickers will still need help in defeating the Shinigami. It's time to call in some old friends, and bring a legendary gamer out of retirement. The third installment of Fantasy Online is everything you've come to expect from the series: humor, guest appearances, action, a gaseous goblin, exploding marbles, and a plot that continues to deliver.
